A family-owned business, established in 1980, NVD was set up to assist vehicle manufacturers in the timely and incident free distribution of their products. Role Summary

The role is responsible for delivering high-quality paint finishes on vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and company standards. This includes preparing vehicle surfaces, mixing and applying paint, performing colour matching, and carrying out quality inspections to ensure a flawless finish.


The successful candidate will have proven experience as a Spray Painter within an automotive repair or refinishing environment, with strong technical knowledge of painting materials, tools, and water-based paint systems. Precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence are essential qualities for success in this role.


The position also involves maintaining a safe and organised workspace, managing paint and material inventory, and collaborating closely with colleagues across the workshop to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of work. A vocational qualification in automotive painting is desirable, and strong communication and organisational skills are required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Spray Painter in an automotive repair setting.

  • Strong knowledge of painting equipment, materials, and techniques.

  • Experience with water-based paint is essential.

  • Ability to mix and apply paint in a manner that meets high quality standards.

  • Good understanding of colour theory and colour matching.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to excellence.

  • Vocational training or certification in auto body painting is preferred but not essential.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicles for painting, including sanding, masking, and priming.

  • Mix and match paint to ensure perfect colour alignment with original factory specifications.

  • Apply paint to vehicles using spray guns and other equipment, ensuring even coverage and proper thickness.

  • Operate heating or drying equipment to accelerate paint drying.

  • Perform quality checks on completed jobs to ensure there are no defects.

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by complying with health and safety regulations.

  • Keep records of paint usage and supplies to manage inventory effectively.

  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure timely completion of vehicles.
