The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to begin a career in vehicle damage assessment. As a Trainee Vehicle Estimator, you will receive comprehensive training to learn how to accurately assess vehicle damage, determine repair costs, and manage the end-to-end process. You will work closely with senior estimators, technicians, and insurance partners to develop the skills needed for a successful career in the industry.


Key Responsibilities & Learning Objectives

Under the guidance of our senior team, you will learn to:

  • Inspect damaged vehicles to identify all necessary repairs.

  • Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using industry-leading software like Audatex.

  • Communicate effectively with customers about the extent of damage, available repair options, and associated costs.

  • Coordinate with insurance companies to facilitate repair approvals and understand policy guidelines.

  • Liaise with parts suppliers and technicians to ensure repairs are both timely and cost-effective.

  • Maintain precise records of all estimates, work orders, and customer communications.

  • Provide customers with regular updates on the status of their vehicle's repair.

  • Conduct final accounts in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Perform post-repair quality inspections to ensure all work meets our high standards.

 

 

Who We're Looking For

·       We are seeking a candidate with a passion for the automotive industry and a strong desire to learn.

Essential Skills & Qualities:

  • A keen interest in cars and a foundational knowledge of vehicle systems and repair techniques.

  • Strong analytical and organisational skills with great attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

  • A proactive and adaptable attitude, with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with IT systems and a willingness to learn specialist software such as Audatex and Sage.

  • A full, clean Class B driving license is required.

Desirable, But Not Essential:

  • Previous experience in the motor trade (e.g., as a mechanic, panel beater, or in a service advisory role).

  • Technical training or certifications in auto repair.

  • Familiarity with the Autoflow body shop management system is beneficial.
