Role Summary

The Quality Engineer ensures that products and services meet customer specifications, regulatory standards, and internal technical requirements. This role drives continuous improvement on the shop floor, optimizes manufacturing processes, leads root-cause problem solving, and maintains overall quality system compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Control & Monitoring: Develop, implement, and maintain quality plans, inspection methods, and control plans for manufacturing processes and internal business processes. This will include random auditing internally to ensure process compliance.

  • Root Cause & Corrective Action: Lead cross-functional teams through non-conformance investigations (CAPA, 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) to eliminate production defects and prevent recurrence. This will include embedding a suitable CAPA system for the business units. 

  • Continuous Improvement: Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive scrap reduction, process repeatability, and efficiency gains.

  • NPI & Engineering Change: Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) by developing Design/Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA/PFMEA).

  • Audit & Compliance: Conduct internal process and product audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / 14001/ 45001 standards and customer specifications. This will include leading the internal audits with external auditors (e.g NSAI etc...)

  • Supplier Quality Support: Collaborate with procurement to resolve supplier-related material defects and incoming quality issues.

  • Data & Metrics: Track key operational metrics (e.g First Pass Yield, Scrap Rate, Cost of Poor Quality) and report insights to management.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Third level in an engineering discipline but not essential.

  • 1-2 years’ experience in working in a quality department.

  • 5+ years’ experience working on a manufacturing environment such as vehicle conversions or bodybuilding desirable.

  • Strong IT skills in MS Office and Google, strong analytical skills and pricing reporting to senior management.
