Role Summary

The Parts Advisor is a critical, customer-facing role responsible for the accurate identification, sourcing, and supply of commercial vehicle parts to the workshop technical staff and external drivers, ensuring high-quality service and seamless parts flow. This role requires strong product knowledge, meticulous attention to detail in inventory management, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • Strong administration skills.

  • Commercial vehicle experience and preferably car transporter familiarity.

  • Input parts onto the DMS system. (Assetminder experience an advantage)

  • Allocate parts, oils and greases, and sundries items onto job cards. 

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail essential.

  • Ability to multi-task and work well under strict deadlines is essential.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

  • Management experience as part of a wider Parts team

  • Good problem solver.

  • Full clean driving license – Class B.


Responsibilities

  • Strategic Parts Operations: Provide an efficient service to the workshop technical staff by accurately identifying commercial vehicle parts using parts IT systems, and oversee the entire parts supply chain to meet workshop demands.

  • Inventory & Stock Management: Strategically order, organise, and maintain optimal parts stock levels. Establish and enforce policies for inventory accuracy, including conducting and overseeing daily stock control checks.

  • Facility Management: Oversee and maintain department housekeeping duties, ensuring a safe, clean, and organised working environment compliant with NVD policies.

  • Workshop & Driver Relations: Oversee and coordinate the handling of walk-in driver queries at the workshop for ancillary items/PPE, ensuring exceptional service.

  • Process Improvement & Reporting: Prepare ad-hoc reports on inventory, performance, and projects as needed. Proactively identify and implement areas for continuous improvement for parts processes based on data, experience, and driver feedback.

  • Coordination & Compliance: Coordinate and consolidate NVD related material. Ensure all parts operations are working in accordance with the policies and procedures of NVD and relevant regulatory standards.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between the parts team and the separate warehouse & logistics team to ensure seamless operations and material flow.
