About NVD

A family-owned business, established in 1980, NVD was set up to assist vehicle manufacturers in the timely and incident free distribution of their products. We’ve established ourselves as a one stop shop providing the three main pillars of outbound logistics, including transporting, storing and enhancing our customers’ vehicles, prior to delivery to their end location. Since 1980 NVD has been at the forefront of pioneering the digitisation of the FVL industry. As early adopters of emerging technology we have been able to introduce huge efficiencies saving time and money for our customers. Our unwavering commitment to progress and continual service improvement remains at the heart of our business today.

About The Role

At NVD, our people are our most valuable asset. We are looking for a dedicated and objective Employee Relations (ER) Specialist to join our People Team. Reporting directly to the Head of People, you will be the primary point of contact for managing ER cases. Your mission is to ensure that NVD remains a fair, transparent, and compliant workplace by managing ER cases with empathy, legal rigour, and professionalism.

As you may be required to visit any of our sites in Ireland and the UK a full, clean driving license is essential for this role. Applicants without a driving license will not be considered.

You may also be required to travel to the UK so your eligibility to work should cover both Ireland and UK. Applicants not eligible to work in both jurisdictions will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will focus on maintaining the "health" of our workplace culture through the following pillars:

  • Case Management: Lead and manage end-to-end employee relations matters, including formal investigations, disciplinary actions, and grievances.

  • Conflict Resolution: Act as a neutral party to mediate interpersonal conflicts and provide coaching to managers on handling difficult conversations.

  • Compliance & Policy: Ensure all ER activities align with current legislation and NVD’s internal policies. You will also assist the Head of People in updating the Employee Handbook as regulations evolve.

  • Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all cases, ensuring confidentiality and data protection (GDPR) standards are met.

  • Insight & Prevention: Identify trends from ER data to recommend proactive training or cultural initiatives that reduce the frequency of disputes.

Required Skills & Experience

We are looking for a specialist who balances a firm grasp of employment law with high emotional intelligence.

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience as an HR Generalist (with a heavy ER focus) or as a dedicated Employee Relations Case Manager.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (CIPD qualification is highly desirable).

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Deep understanding of employment legislation (Ireland: essential, UK: desired) and best practices regarding investigations.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and objective under pressure.

  • Discretion: Proven ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with the utmost integrity.
