A family-owned business, established in 1980, NVD was set up to assist vehicle manufacturers in the timely and incident free distribution of their products. We’ve established ourselves as a one stop shop providing the three main pillars of outbound logistics, including transporting, storing and enhancing our customers’ vehicles, prior to delivery to their end location. Since 1980 NVD has been at the forefront of pioneering the digitisation of the FVL industry. The successful candidate will establish contacts within the auto-motive sector, pursue formal and informal business development and sales opportunities and directly support the Head of Business Development with strategic and operational work. Key responsibilities will include the preparation of formal tenders, assisting with informal and formal sales process. There will also be an account management aspect to the role.

Responsibilities
The following list of responsibilities and tasks is not exhaustive:
Supports the Head of Department with strategic business development activities in Ireland
Leads the sales tendering process. Consults with logistics, planning, finance departments and other stakeholders and prepares tender documentation for review by the Head of Department
Maintains and manages a database / calendar of tender opportunities in markets of interest to the company
Develops appropriate market intelligence with respect to potential OEM customers, including market research of potential OEM logistics activities, key personnel and opportunities
Supports the Head of Department with formal and informal sales and business development processes
Assists the Head of Department with Account Management efforts; this may include some problem resolution activities
Acts as Account Manager for assigned OEM / Importer / Distributor customers, ensuring an excellent working relationship is maintained at all times
Develops an excellent working knowledge of the Finished Vehicle Logistics industry
In conjunction with the Head of Department, develops a marketing programme to support the strategic sales effort in Ireland – ensuring better brand recognition in the industry; this will include finding ways to innovatively and strategically position the company to support the business development efforts.
Under the direction of the Head of Department, manage external marketing and PR agencies as may be required to fulfil the marketing programme
Working with the Head of Department, ensure the company is effectively and appropriately promoted at industry conferences
Support other sales colleagues in the department with effective marketing activity. For example, ensure that social media is used to the fullest extent
Ensures the company website and on-line presence is well developed and actively supports the company strategy
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business or marketing
Full drivers licence
At least three years of relevant sales experience
Logical, linear thinker
Experience of project management or similar discipline would be advantageous
Experience of participating in tender processes
Able to close a sale
